We hadn't been to the Peak District for many years; before Nibbler (our Jack Russell) came into our lives in 2009. A return visit was, therefore, in order and so we did in the late summer of 2022.
I booked a holiday cottage in the White Peaks in the village of Hartington which was delightful - the cottage and the village. We were able to walk directly from the cottage to some lovely areas but we did head out to discover the wider area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt we did a lot in the week we had. The Peak District being a vast National Park meant we didn't have time to go to the High Peaks but came back again in 2023.
We stayed in rental cottage located in the valley below Kinder Scout, so was ideally located to explore this area and very beautiful it was too.
